Graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1985, Bill obtained a BS in Business Administration and Management with a concentration in Real Estate. For the past 15+ years, he has been involved in the operations and management of the family farm. As an owner and operator of Colonial Acres Farm L.L.C., Bill has successfully run a 1300+ acre cattle and grain farm in the heart of Varina, and has helped manage timber in four other counties. As an active agribusiness volunteer, Bill has served as president of both the Virginia Soybean Association and the Virginia Small Grains Association, vice-president of the Henrico County Farm Bureau, associate director for the Henricopolis Soil and Water Conservation District, and numerous agricultural committees. He is also a past president of the Varina Ruritan and an Eagle Scout who still gives his support and time to the boy scouts. Through these experiences, Bill has a strong work ethic and a keen understanding of the farming community and the environmental issues faced today.
